Three women reveal how they GAINED 253lbs and spent £8,500 between them at diet groups

They're supposed to help you lose weight. But slimming clubs, which can cost up to £250 a year to be part of, aren't fail-proof. Three women from England who relied on the clubs to change their life have told how they gained 253lbs (114kg) between them, spending an estimated £8,500 in the process. It was only when they abandoned what they described as 'cults' that they saw results by using alternative weight loss methods, becoming slimmer than they were before. MailOnline shares their remarkable weight loss pictures - and their stories. Left: Sharon Kind, 50, of Bedfordshire, who gained 2st (12.7kg) in three years and spent around £500. She has lost 2st 8lb (18.2kg) since leaving Slimming World (left inset). Centre: Kally Lamb, 59, of west London, who gained 11st (74.3kg) in 20 years and estimates to have spent £6,000. She lost 12st (76.2kg) with a gastric band (centre inset). Right: Christine Drane, 58, of Lincolnshire, gained 5st (31.7kg) in 20 years, spending some £2,000. She is now more than 10st (63.5kg) slimmer since getting one-to-one hypnotherapy (right inset).
